Ultrasounds

At the Memory Doctor Center, we use advanced imaging techniques to support the accurate diagnosis and management of memory loss and dementia. Among these, Transcranial Doppler (TCD) and carotid imaging are valuable, non-invasive tools that help us assess the vascular factors contributing to cognitive decline.

TCD measures blood flow velocity in the cerebral arteries, allowing us to detect abnormalities such as reduced flow or turbulence that may indicate impaired brain perfusion. These changes can play a significant role in the progression of cognitive impairment and other neurological conditions.

Carotid imaging evaluates the carotid arteries in the neck, identifying blockages or narrowing (stenosis) that can limit blood flow to the brain. Detecting and addressing these vascular issues early is essential for preventing strokes and managing dementia-related symptoms.

By incorporating TCD and carotid imaging into our comprehensive evaluations, we gain a deeper understanding of the underlying causes of cognitive decline. These insights allow us to develop targeted treatment plans that address both neurological and vascular health—ultimately improving outcomes and enhancing quality of life for our patients.
